We love rainbows! My kids and I love to look for rainbows after it rains and we love rainbow themes. My co-teacher and I created our preschool room in fun vibrant colors of hot pink, turquoise, lime green, orange,and purple. Lots of clouds and ABC’s. Will share soon.
My kids and I love to craft! We made Rainbow Cupcakes and Rainbow Pasta to play with and created art.
Rainbow Colored Pasta
Here is what you will need:
*different shaped pasta (i used wagon wheels and mini elbow all I had on hand)
*food coloring gels (I prefer the Wilton Gel it is so much more vibrant and bold)
* quart size freezer bags
* rubbing alcohol
Place one cup of pasta in bag for the desired colors. Add 1 tablespoon of rubbing alcohol and 2 teaspoons of coloring gel ( or desired amount for desired color. Seal the bag and let the kids mush around and smash and play. Let sit for at least 3 hours. Line a cookie sheet with paper towels and pour colored pasta onto sheet and let dry overnight. I piled mine on the sheet, so I did have to mix it up half way through for the air to get all the way through. Pour into air tight container (i left the lid off for a few hours to air out the smell of the rubbing alcohol.)
get creative with food color, pasta, and the colors of the rainbow and let your imagination soar like a rainbow in the sky.
