Spring Break and a little piece of Heaven

March 18, 2012 · 2 Comments

Spring Break has come to an end. Our family doesn’t typically travel during spring break. We stay close to home since we usually have little things going on around our home and my husband has to plan his vacation days a year in advance at the fire department. I imagine we will plan these fun little spring breaks when my children are in grade school and that is some of our only time off.

This week I wasn’t feeling like “myself” and I was feeling guilty that we left preschool and pre-k early because I wasn’t feeling well. My son really missed his friends and teachers. He loves them and he loves when mommy picks him up,however, he does not like being picked up early.

Here is what we did for the week. T-Ball practice, dinner with friends, The Zoo with cousins, movie with friends, a playdate and Fire Station trip, a friend’s birthday party, and lots of family time at home. The week before we went to Dino World too. My husband and I also decided to start re-decorating our family room. We had the opportunity to sell our living room furniture this week and start over.

T Ball Practice

We also went to Dino World the week before Spring Break and had a great time. My little man loves dinosaurs. His favorite part was imitating the dinosaurs in his pictures.I couldn’t resist!

My sweet little sunshine {most of the time}

We planned a visit to the Fire Station to visit daddy. We also took a friend with us and played at the playground. A fun filled day.

On to the Dallas Zoo visit. It was extremely busy but we still had some fun with our cousins.

She is going through a phase of dressing herself and I love it. He loves stuffed animals and he fell in love with the new Koala we received with our membership.

And finally a little photo with mommy. My little sunshine was not shining anymore. She was hot, tired, and was not having any more photos.

We also celebrated the life of our first sweet child of God. She would have been six years old on the 16th. We celebrated our love for her on her sixth heavenly birthday. Our children love their big sister and she is a part of our family as if she was here. Thank you to all of our family and friends who cherish those memories with us. We love you sweet Payton. We love you Heavenly Father and thank you everyday for her and all of our blessings here on Earth and in Heaven.

Hope of all you had fun, loving, crazy, sun shining spring break at home or far away. Embracing each others unique personalities, likes, dislikes, and most of all honoring God as a family.

Lord God of Israel, there is no God in heaven above or on earth below like You… I Kings 8:23

A breath of fresh air each and every day!

Love, Angie

Facing Tough Encounters

Facing Tough Encounters

Since the beginning of our homeschooling journey I have been at peace with decisions that I made to provide an environment for my children that embraced their over all well-being. An environment of interest, creativity, strengths and weaknesses, love, joy, kindness, and yes even disagreements with brother but healthy disagreements. Healthy disagreements where we can […]

It has been raining for like the millionth day but the rain has forced us to stay home more than usual and allow us to really focus on some things around the house. So even though I miss the sunshine I am thankful for the rain too. We started a whole new adventure since the […]

Cold Winter Days and Warm Soup

Cold Winter Days and Warm Soup

Goodness this holiday season flew by but I held tight to every moment with my family. We have had some cold winter days this last week in Texas and that could only mean warm snuggles in cozy sherpa blankets and homemade chicken noodle soup. One of my favorite memories with my grandmother was cooking in […]
