a little thought on my journey of grief and finding joy

December 23, 2015 · Leave a Comment

//sometimes in our life we are struck with heavy burdens and tragedies that seem impossible to live again. With Christmas approaching I know a lot of people are hurting. I too have hurt so bad during the holidays I didn’t even want to face them. If you are hurting today please hear me. I understand your pain. When I lost my child and her first Christmas {or any other firsts approached} it took everything I had and more to face it without crumbling. We focus on praying and hoping are healing comes. Healing doesn’t entirely go away after losing someone but you can find joy in each day and once again laugh. I promise. The pain will not last forever. A day will come when you will smile and hope and kindness are easier to find than before. The voices of truth will surround you and remind you that life is hard but it is beautiful. Have courage and be in tune with whatever your healing journey may be this season. Grief has no rules. Nine years ago I never could imagine where my journey of grief would take me. God carries me through the pain and the joy. He will carry you. Embrace your journey of grief and remember to be grateful for the fall you faced. It’s because of the fall your shattered soul will carefully be mended with love and grace that will one day begin to pour through the cracks of your mended heart ready to share and intertwine within you that will overflow in others. Creating a beautiful story that God created within you to be brave and find the true reason to live each day with a grateful heart// #journeyofgrieftojoy #choosejoy #stillbirth #babyloss #thereisalwayshope12376756_10205981537803580_2960276841541345265_n

Chalkola + Birthday

We celebrated our sweet girl turning 12 years old! She loves all things horses, rainbows, and farm animals. I loved being able to spoil her with her favorites for the day. Riding horses, horse and rainbow cake, family time, pizza, and this adorable Chalkola Chalkboard. I am not an artist but the Chalkola brand chalk […]

His Love

This world is full of sorrow and suffering and death. But thankfully, this world isn’t it for us. Because of God’s greatest gift of salvation, we have the hope of the world to come, where there is no suffering and peace surpasses everything.  The storms that are raging and crashing all around us….will stop. That sickness […]
