The last few days have been amazing to the say the least. I have been blessed by so many friends, family, and even strangers in one way or another. I have been blessed by those reaching out to me on my birthday. I have been blessed to spend the weekend with my sister after returning from Afghanistan for a year. Oh how I missed her. I am thankful for her and what she has sacrificed.
Please know that I have had some rough days myself as I am sure most can relate. I honestly had a day last week that I was so down and negative I had to pray very hard on knees to Jesus to protect my heart and mind from satan trying to seep in. He is very smart like that. But we have a God who knows us best and will do what is best for us. if we allow him. It is a privilege to have an open communication through prayer with God. Just as God chose us.I choose him. I choose Joy. I choose to smile and trust in God. I choose love.
I was blessed beyond measure by friends and family this weekend with encouraging words on my birthday. I was honored to read the comments texted, emailed, and written on my facebook wall. Words that I have never thought of about myself. But someone did. That encouraged me. It also convicted me. We are always in someone’s view. Someone will always see how you are acting or hear what you are saying. It reminded me that God is who we are representing. I can hide myself at home from my friends and they will only see the good side of me. This is where I was convicted and reminded that God always sees how we are acting. What we are thinking. Everything we do. And everything we do should be for God’s Glory not ours. The compliments we receive, the gifts we receive, the good deeds we do, the service we provide should all be for God’s glory.
We belong to God. He made us for his purpose. We also belong here for a purpose and one day we will belong home with Jesus in Heaven. He also places us where we belong each minute of every day. He places us at school, the check out lane, the doctor office, even when it inconveniences us at the time for a reason. We belong there. We belong to Jesus and we represent him for his Glory. Be the hands and feet of Jesus. Love on others, serve others, seek others who are lost to find God’s kingdom and glorify God in everything you do.
You belong where you are today. You belong with Jesus in Heaven. You belong to God.
