Pass It Forward Friday

March 2, 2012 · Leave a Comment

This week I was challenged with a Pass It Forward card I shared about last Friday. To view the post click here. I love this idea of accountability with each and to watch our card pass from one to the next doing random acts of kindness.

My challenge this week was to do a creative random act of kindness and then share it with you today to link up with My Shine Project. I have to be honest this was not as easy as I imagined. Don’t get me wrong I love to do things for others. I am tender-hearted, compassionate, and nurturing. However, having the challenge lay before me I felt clueless.

But in reality, God was speaking to me all along and showing me exactly what to do this week. I couldn’t hear him at first with my own consuming thoughts. I had a list of what I was going to do. It went something like this. Make cinnamon rolls for a friend. Take a gift card to the sweet girl at our favorite restaurant who always treats my family with such kindness. Bake some cookies for my neighbors. All of the ideas are great and I plan to do them but for some reason I was still clueless. I continued to pray what do you want me to do Lord to glorify you in this challenge.

His answer: My sweet, sweet Husband

I know it sounds cliché. My husband? Shouldn’t I already be showing him kindness? How is this random? God convicted me that all time I put into my volunteer projects, bible study, and my children I need to affirm my husband for who he is.

Being a busy mom of two young children, a preschool teacher, and other areas that pull me away from him, I don’t show him enough. My husband needs kindness just like a stranger in the store, the cashier at the check out lane, the waitress/waiter, the teller at the bank, and so many more. We are brothers and sisters in Christ and we are to love one another.

I decided to keep it simple for him. I gave him a simple card and wrote words of affirmation to him. Thanking him, loving him, and being a child of God in this journey of life with him.

Chalkola + Birthday

We celebrated our sweet girl turning 12 years old! She loves all things horses, rainbows, and farm animals. I loved being able to spoil her with her favorites for the day. Riding horses, horse and rainbow cake, family time, pizza, and this adorable Chalkola Chalkboard. I am not an artist but the Chalkola brand chalk […]

His Love

This world is full of sorrow and suffering and death. But thankfully, this world isn’t it for us. Because of God’s greatest gift of salvation, we have the hope of the world to come, where there is no suffering and peace surpasses everything.  The storms that are raging and crashing all around us….will stop. That sickness […]
