We have completed our first two weeks of school and although it has been a bit of a whirlwind getting used to the schedules, activities outside of school, and church it has been amazing. We are now in 5th grade and 4th grade and I am in my 4th year of teaching computers in elementary. Our routines are a little bit different this year with my son being at a new campus for 5th grade away form my campus. My sweet friend who I am blessed to be a neighbor to as well have teamed up afternoon school pick up. It definitely takes a village and I am thankful for my village. Waking up this morning to the cool air feels like fall is just around the corner in this Texas heat and I am read for it. I love all seasons for different reasons but I love fall for it’s cozy feeling and cool weather. It did leave me thinking about summer this morning.
It is such a huge blessing to be able to be with my kids all summer. We were able to take a family trip to Colorado with my husband’s brother, his wife (my favorite sister in law ever), their amazing kids, and my sweet mother in law. We traveled to a new place in Pagosa Springs and did some amazing hikes. We then traveled to my husband’s family in Berthoud (near Longmont and Rocky Mountains) to visit. I love that we were able to do this as a family again this year. We made some amazing memories filled with laughter, joy, and even tears (what vacation doesn’t have tears) but seeing the beauty in those places that God created and sharing that with our family was truly magical. Gosh I just love it there. We look forward to it every summer. . With the new school year upon us and the busyness that seems to over take our families, I hope that you make some time to be intentional even though it’s not Summer anymore. I love our family trips but I also love the memories we make here in our home, in our communities, our family time, and more. We don’need a family trip to see the blessings and amazing beauty that surrounds us but the memories that we have together here and there fill my heart with joy.
